The importance of actionable data and intelligent information to Clinical Commissioning
Your Control: You're accountable. You need control.
Put simply data is the key. You can't do it without the data. You have to analyse the data. You have to understand the data and then turn it into meaningful action.
'Data data everywhere.' But what you really need is intelligence because intelligence – the right information, in the right place at the right time – gives you the assurance and the confidence to make informed decisions.
Informed decisions mean better decisions and better decisions mean better healthcare experiences and outcomes for patients.
It's as simple as that.
Sollis commissioning analytics exists for one purpose and one purpose only: to provide commissioning intelligence that puts you in total control of the business of commissioning.
That's it.
Your Finance: Show me the money!
You're intelligence needs are wide and varied. You need timely and relevant access to quality assured information on costs, because finance and budgets will always drive the 'business' of commissioning, particularly in times of financial constraint.
You need to demonstrate that your commissioning decisions represent value for money. You need to demonstrate that you are managing your providers; that they are delivering the services you commissioned at activity and cost levels that you agreed to as part of the contract.
Furthermore you need to understand that provider 'claims for payment' are based on a set of activity and cost data that bears up to scrutiny.
You understand that peer-to-peer review is an essential part of the process of effective commissioning : benchmarking and comparative analyses are 'must haves' and all this analysis needs to be presented in terms of finance.
This is what Sollis commissioning analytics does. It shows you the money! Furthermore it shows you the underlying activity that generated that expenditure.
That's it.
Your Patients: "It's about the patients, stupid!"
At the same time as you need intelligence about costs, you need access to evidence based intelligence about the patient. Not only are you accountable for costs, but you need to demonstrate that your actions deliver better outcomes for patients; better quality care. So you need access to actionable data; data which changes commissioning behaviour; data that is evidence based and clinically meaningful; data that results in a calls to action.
Consider the challenge of Long Terms Conditions.
Given the scale of the challenge faced by the NHS in respect of Long Term Conditions, you need intelligence that helps you better case manage these patients. From a commissioning perspective you need an evidence base which enables you to re-design services which - with these patients in mind – deliver better patient experiences and better healthcare outcomes. In doing so you need to demonstrate that these actions deliver value for money.
This is what Sollis commissioning analytics does. It provides actionable data – healthcare intelligence – on patients.
That's it.
Together: Putting you in Control
